Applicants must meet the following minimum requirements to be considered to officiate in a Southeast Regional tournament. If the
applicant does not meet the minimum requirements, they are not to submit an application.
We are requesting that all umpires interested in becoming an Umpire-in-Chief registrer by May 1, 2017. All other applicants must register by the close of business May 15, 2017.
The applicant must be certified (baseball and (or) softball) with the Babe Ruth National Umpires Association (NUA) in calendar year 2017.
If a Virginia umpire, current membership in the Virginia Babe Ruth Umpires Association (VBRUA) is also required in calendar year 2017.
The applicant must have officiated in a minimum of five (5) verifiable Babe Ruth sanctioned State tournaments prior to submitting an application.
The applicant must be willing to work games at the minimum compensation for the age group approved for calendar year 2017.
The applicant must have expectations of receiving a "Positive" endorsement by his or her State Commissioner.
